UT Gastroenterology
UT Gastroenterology is the physician group practice of The University of Texas Medical School at Houston's Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
Representing the best in their field, UT Gastroenterology physicians provide high quality effective care for patients with disorders of the colon, esophagus, liver, pancreas and stomach. We offer endoscopic and non-endoscopic procedures, lithotripsy and the services of a swallowing and heartburn center. Our multidisciplinary team of specialists provide diagnosis, treatment, education and management related to conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome, motility problems, malabsorption, acid reflux and indigestion, inflammatory bowel disease, peptic ulcers, Crohn's disease and pancreatitis.
Procedures including upper and lower diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, ERCP, papillotomy, polypectomy, capsule endoscopy, single and double-balloon enteroscopy, esophageal, small bowel, and ano-rectal motility and intestinal and liver biopsies are carried out in fully equipped outpatient clinical gastroenterology suites with fluoroscopic capabilities.
Outpatient gastroenterology services are seen at the UT-Memorial Hermann Digestive Disease Center located in the UT Professional Building, the UT Health Center Building in Bellaire and the LBJ Hospital gastroenterology clinic. Patients with liver disease including those being evaluated for liver transplantation or followed after liver transplantation are seen at the UT- Memorial Hermann- Texas Liver Center and the LBJ Medicine clinic for gastroenterology.
